ugh. where’s all the GOOD music these days. it’s all just rapping and beibers and directions. i miss the days where i could go into the local tavern and hoist a mighty flagon of mead to a jaunty tune on the lute of a young bard

BA6 ‘Overheard’ project final 2 - just noticed like a whole load of badly edited bits, but the final’s printed and framed now sooo I’ll just hope no one notices. Good practice.

Kirsty Mitchell’s late mother Maureen was an English teacher who spent her life inspiring generations of children with imaginative stories and plays. Following Maureen’s death from a brain tumour in 2008, Kirsty channelled her grief into her passion for photography.

She retreated behind the lens of her camera and created Wonderland, an ethereal fantasy world. The photographic series began as a small summer project but grew into an inspirational creative journey.

‘Real life became a difficult place to deal with, and I found myself retreating further into an alternative existence through the portal of my camera,’ said the artist. (read the rest here).

My brother has just informed me that someone he knows has always thought the words to Eiffel 65’s Blue were:

I’m blue and I believe I will die in Aberdeen, I will die in Aberdeen I will die

I miss being a child at art. I miss just thinking ‘I want to draw stone henge’ and then just drawing a series of boxes with no reference and no care for accuracy and still being proud of it. Knowing what something looks like is knowing too much and has ruined any and all interest I had in art. I can’t just draw a dog any more, I have to draw a specific breed of dog and google it first to make sure it’s accurate and physically possible to draw a dog the way I want to draw it and then when I’ve drawn it I’m not happy with it.

I really just miss enjoying what I do.

i have done nothing today.
